Positive test after miscarriage

I had bleeding on 3/17 at 9 weeks and went to the ER. They told me the baby had stopped growing around 7 weeks and I was going through the expelling process naturally. I had my blood drawn that day and the next, and my hormone levels were dropping. I stopped bleeding in less than 1 week.

We’ve been trying as soon as the bleeding stopped since the doctor said that was okay. I took a test this morning (about 4 weeks since the bleeding started) and got a positive. Is it possible this is leftover hormones from the last pregnancy or could it be a new one? I don’t want to get my hopes up at all.

All my symptoms had went away the week I was bleeding and I felt completely normal up until the last few days. I just assumed it was my period returning (sore boobs, mild pressure) but I had a positive result. Any situations similar would be great! I plan to visit the doctor in the next few days if the lines get darker.
