Would you want to know?

My husbands mother was raped at a young age and got pregnant with him. When he was 18, his “half sister” (daughter of what would be his father too), reached out to him and really wanted to tell him about his father and get to know him. She told him his father passed away in 1997 (my husband would’ve been 7 years old) and that he has told her she wasn’t to contact my husband until he turned 18. So obviously his father knew about him. (I don’t know the full story, my husband was told his mom was raped and that’s where we leave it at).

Now my husband is starting to get curious and wants to know bloodlines and what not and wants to message her asking about it. I told him it might be good to know. She seems nice. Never met her, just over facebook.

So my question is, if this happened to you, would you want to know history of that side? Or not care?
