Women farting in public stalls

Whats the huge controversy surrounding passing gas in a public stall? Ladies go inside to relieve themselves. I’ve heard numerous stories about men’s restrooms being a sanctuary zone, where all may pass freely. Is there a girl code that needs to be more publicized?? If it is ok to pass gas inside the stall, should you say, “excuse me” afterwards or be discreet?

As a personal choice, I only pass gas if I am alone in the restroom and actually walk down the line up to make sure nobody is in there. 😭

If somebody else needs to pass gas, I try my hardest not to laugh (farts crack me up) but I’m ok with it.
