Period after Baby

My son is 8 months old, I breastfeed on demand, and I haven’t gotten my period back or any sign of it. I want to start trying for another baby around when my son turns 1- so that’s right around the corner. But I’m not anywhere near ready to stop breastfeeding.

Questions:

1. Is there a way to help start ovulation again while still breastfeeding?

2. When did your period come back while still breastfeeding?
