Almost 40 and thinking about a baby #4...too late for that???

Question

I’m married for about 8 years, a mother of girl 14, girl 4 and boy 3, finishing college and finally getting ready to re-enter work force. I had my last baby at 36. But suddenly I feel like being pregnant again, hold a newborn...I would love a second baby boy. Is that crazy to think about more babies when I’m 39 already? 
Please, give me your real thoughts on this! TIA

As long as you are healthy I say go for it! I know people who had kids as late as 45 and did great

Hello. It’s not crazy at all. Most people are still pretty fertile at that age and I know a lot of people who have got pregnant naturally then too. The only real difference is that you may find that it takes a bigger toll on your body than it does when you’re younger so you may find you find things more difficult than you did previously and of course you would be considered higher risk and there is a greater risk of abnormalities. It will also make going back to work harder if you take more time out but that’s up to you. Are you sure that it’s another baby you suddenly want and not just to be with your children rather than be at work/nerves about returning to the workplace (totally understandable)? :) x

Not crazy at all! I’m 40. This is my third and final baby 😄 My eldest is 16. I don’t feel any different to how I did at 24. I think I’ll appreciate it all even more 🤗 put it this way would you regret having one last baby? Or will you regret going past the point that you can’t and not having one? X

I feel it’s a personal choice !! I will be 33 when my second one is born and I feel I don’t want anymore kids after that. If you wanna go for it, then do it :) There is no right or wrong for this !!

So long story short... My sister is 37 and on her 7th pregnancy. With one miscarriage and the loss of her 5th son at 9 months old. Unfortunately I've been ttc for 12 years and have custody of her 5 kids. Anyways i see alot of women waiting closer to 40 to even begin ttc so i don't see why having #4 at 39 is an issue! Go for it!

I couldn't do it. I'm exhausted enough in my 20's, I couldn't imagine doing it at 40. My first will be 20 then herself and I'll be getting my life back to do what I want. No way could I go backwards 😂 My mum also caught huge baby fever at 40 though but she's glad she didn't follow through because now she's travelling and built a great career that she can just keep on building without having to put everything on pause. 
It ultimately up to you but just consider the very real risks and think about if this is something you really do want or is it just a phase because your kids are growing up?

If you feel like you want to raise another one, go for it!
My husband is 41 and we just had a kid 2 months ago.
My grandma and grandpa had my dad when they were nearly 50.

It's a completely personal preference honey, everyone's situation is different. For me 35 is my personal cut off, just because having a 15 year old at 50 is the oldest I'd like to be. Our family has a history of poor health in their 50s and I didn't want to have a "child" still at that time.
