Was I wrong for what I did?

I work for a company that does gorcery deliveries, and I just got transferred to a new location. When I started my shift this morning one of my new co-workers asked me if I wanted some free groceries that a customer had returned. So it was three of us picking and choosing what we wanted to take from about 10 different bags. I asked about 3-4 times if it was okay to take certain items and even I commented about how much I was taking with me and everyone was telling me that it was fine. Later on when I finished my shift I purchased a couple of groceries for myself and picked up the bags that had my free items (3 to be exact) and walked out of the store, as I waiting for my boyfriend to pick me up from work one of my new co-workers walked out and started to pick a fight with me. It started of by her saying that I took too many items and that I didnt leave anything for the rest of the people. I responded by telling her that its ridiculous to argue about free things, I told her how do you know you would like anything in here? I legit took everything that nobody else wanted because it was veggies and vegetarian food items. And that's besides the point because I was told that I could take anything that I wanted and there wasn't a limit of items I could take or to leave a certain amount of items for the people coming in for the later shifts. But she kept arguing with me that it was fair, that I shouldnt have taken so many items and I ended the conversation by basically telling her that I couldn't do anything about it, everyone else from my shift left with 2 or more bags and told me that it was up for dibs so it wasn't my fault that she wasn't there earlier. What do you think? I really wanna hear what opinions others have about this situation and what would you have done ?

*We did have the store manger and our own mangers approval btw*
