What is the best pump to use for breastfeeding? And why? I’m trying to do some research and get some votes before I put them on my registry. I am thinking about maybe getting one through insurance. Anyone done this?

I bought a Medela Freestyle and got a Spectra S2 through my insurance. The Spectra was hands down the better pump for me. It has more flexibility in the speed and rhythm of suction, and I had low milk supply, so I needed all the help I could get. I also have an Avent manual pump for times when I couldn’t plug in an electric pump (think movie theaters, etc), which ended up being unexpectedly really useful. Good luck!

It insurance covers it, spectra s2 is the best choice. It’s a hospital grade pump and a closed system so mold can’t get in the pump where you don’t see it. You can customize the speed and suction strength separately. It’s super quiet and it has a little light you can turn on which is just an added bonus 😊

Spectra 2, I’m a FTM and I love this pump. It’s quiet, fast, light to carry, the charge stays up for days, has a light and everything is easy to clean. I love this pump.

I had a Medela with my first and got a spectra this go around and oh my god I love the spectra.

I have used Medela in the past but switched to Spectra S2. I like that you can customize the auction power on it. It’s also a closed system.
