Boyfriend's anger?

He's never been angry at me before, he just gets mad in a lot of situations. I know it's never directed at me, but it still scares me. I've tried telling him that he's scary when he gets like that. He told me that he's seeing someone who's working on it with him. But I don't notice it getting better. It actually seems a lot worse than a few months ago. I'm really worried for him. What should I do?
