What could this be?

I have scabs/ patches that hurt and itch all over my head ! I’ve never had this before. I thought maybe it was because my braids were too tight so i took them out and i seem to gotten even worse . Any idea on what it could be ? I have an appointment with a skin doctor but they can’t get me in until next Tuesday

Go to a doctor, I don’t know what it is, but my friend had an issue sorta of similar and it was basically a ph unbalance on her head (basically a yeast infection but on your scalp) and needed medicated shampoo to get it to go away... so talk to a doctor they should be able to help!

YouTube brushing dandruff off. If you can use brushes and combs to brush everything off making sure you get your scalp. Its build up. If it persists even if they're aren't braids then go to the doctor.

Sometimes if you leave braids in for too long it can develop a mold. It doesn't really look like that though. Looks more like a buildup, not quite dandruff. You could try clarifying shampoo, wash twice and use a good mosturizing conditioner, rinse with cold water. Make sure all of your products are all natural, and avoid using any product other than maybe a little 100% oil until your scalp heals. You could also try a apple cider vinegar wash, but if you have open sores maybe stay away from that. I worked in a hair salon for a few years, so I know a little bit about skin conditions but your doctor can best advise you what to do.
