What is cheating?

This is a debate between a couple of us at work, and I’m just curious as to what y’all think. I believe whole heartedly that you can cheat emotionally and obviously physically. If you have a certain feeling about someone while in a relationship, but you don’t do anything with them physically, I still consider that cheating. Let me know what you think! Feel free to comment as well 😊

It's both.
I think there are different areas considered cheating, depending on the couple. Some say flirting is cheating, some say it isn't.
Some say any physical contact, hugging for instance, is cheating, some don't.
It depends on the relationship and what's been defined as cheating to each other.

I think people paint cheating as too broad of a term. Obviously physical/sexual interactions are cheating duh, however for some people “physicality” is the least of their worries. 
It’s like that other debate earlier (idk if you were here) but an emotional connection with someone is so much deeper than a “my bad blame it on the liquor one night stand”/ sex addiction etc kinda situation. So I can see where people would consider that cheating. 
HOWEVER I do feel some go a bit overboard with the word in and of itself. Your s/o talking to a colleague is not cheating, liking an Instagram pic or following someone on snap isn’t cheating, hell even just a casual convo with a friend of the opposite sex still isn’t cheating. UNLESS, there are boundaries that have previously been crossed, or that persons partner has REASONABLE concerns and they continue any form of “inappropriate” behavior. Ultimately it’s really up to the couple to set those boundaries, we can’t really compare each other’s boundaries as cheating is pretty subjective (at least in most non physical cases) 
My general rule of thumb, is if u have to hide it, it’s cheating 🤷🏻‍♀️

Both are awful and both are cheating.  I don’t think one is worse than the other personally.  Either one would be grounds to end the relationship for me.

Its whatever boundries you set for your relationship. I know, right now porn in my marriage could be considered "breaking trust" I know, right now if I gave my number to Joe Shmoe that's cheating. These are the rules for my marriage that we agreed upon. 
My sister, Her spouse can sleep with other men only as long as both parties agree and it doesn't effect their time.
That's her partnership, that's their rules. If her spouse sleeps with a man without her consent then she'd be cheating. 
It's just all depends on the relationship, and the rules for said relationship.
If your hiding it, your cheating.

Cheating is anything that violates the negotiated rules of the relationship. 
in some relationships watching porn is considered cheating. In some relationships  sleeping with other people isn’t considered cheating.

Cheating is whatever the people in the relationship have agreed to define it as. For us, emotional cheating isn’t a thing.
