Period after Implanon removal...is it necessary?

Evening all :)

I had my Implanon removed 26th March. I was intending on waiting for my first period so I could start tracking bbt and before starting ovulation testing. Is this the right approach do you think?

I've been reading a few posts saying proper periods can take quite a while to arrive, and was wondering if that means you're essentially 'out of action' in the baby making area for that length of time.

Last time I got my Implanon out I got my period within a week and it was relatively regular after that, just with short-ish cycles. Wasn't sure what I was expecting this time, but I didn't expect to be wishing for my period every day 🤣
