Broke up with me through text

Yep. That's right, I didn't think it would happen, but it did.

I wanna clarify that he was never ever an ass to me in the relationship and the week before he broke up with me he asked for a break, which I gave. He went away to another city and did not have contact with me what so ever. Next thing I know is that I get a text that he's breaking up with me. Tried to call but he turned his phone off. Sad he didn't know how to say things to my face. He'll be back in the city next week and I hope we can talk about things. I was hoping to stay friends, but that was such an asshole move and I lost so much respect for him through that text.
