HCG increasing after D&C - NOT pregnant

I lost my baby (MMC) a week before Christmas but didn’t find out until 1/4. After waiting two weeks to see if there was any growth or a heartbeat (in case I had my dates wrong and was earlier than expected), I had a D&C on 1/18. My HCG wasn’t dropping as quickly as expected so they finally gave me Provera a few weeks ago so I’d get my first post-miscarriage period and get rid of any remaining tissue they may have missed. I went from 24 before Provera to 7. A week later I went for another HCG test and now it has increased to 8. WHAT THE HELL?!?!

Has anybody been through this? I am losing my mind and completely devastated that it has taken this long for it to get close to zero, only to have it increase. 😭
