CHANGING DOCTORS AT 20 weeks??

Is it okay to switch OBGYNs at 20 weeks, I just moved to a different county and my doctors 40 minutes away from me, I like her and everything but I feel that’s way too far for me

Yes I’ve just changed my obgyn from 45 minutes away to 10 min away and I was 28 weeks pregnant

I switched at 20 weeks, just after my anatomy scan. Up until then I had been seeing a rotating group of OBs at a large medical center. I didn’t want to deliver at their baby factory of a hospital, so I switched to a small midwife practice 30 mins from my home.

Mine is over an hour away... 45 minutes is not too long if you like the ob. In my opinion it’s not worth risking going to an ob you might not like. It’s super frustrating having to deal with someone you don’t like for weeks and weeks.

I switched at 12 weeks and at 21 weeks.  Neither switch was a problem, only hassle was all the paperwork for the new doctor and to have all my files transferred.

I switched at 18 weeks with no issues. Had my old OBGYN send over all of my records. They did make me redo some bloodwork so it was in their system which connects with the hospital since I am switching hospitals too. Just call around and they will tell you if they have any issues with it.

I drive 35 min to see mine because she’s awesome. From what I have heard from other people, less than an hour commute is totally fine. I guess what it comes down to is whether or not you can spare the extra time driving.

My OB is 45 minutes from me. My cousin said she is amazing so that's why I travel that far. But if you want to switch you can it's no big deal. My cousin switched at like 30 weeks because she moved from saint Louis to southern Illinois close to indiana
