When did you take baby to a busy public space for the 1st time?

Just curious. I know they say you should avoid busy public areas until 4 weeks but it seems a lot of woman I know are our and about with their babies in a matter of days.

I dont plan on taking her in public until at least 8 weeks. I dont see the point of exposing her to all those germs that early on.

I wouldn't have been able to eat or get my errands done if I stayed holed up in my house for a whole 4 weeks

I've never heard that rule. We went out after a week.

If baby is born during the colder months they normally say to wait a couple weeks before taking them out and exposing them to the germs. (Cold season)

I had places I NEEDED to go so we were out and about within the first week

Honestly it just depends on your comfort level with it. We didnt take my daughter anywhere she didnt need to go until about 6 weeks, but with my son I feel like hes going to go everywhere with us no matter his age

I think that’s a preference we went out the day we left the hospital nothing crazy busy just a restaurant and to a store. I kept him covered so nobody would feel inclined to touch my new baby and if he was uncovered I made sure to place myself between them and my baby so they wouldn’t get close.

We got released on a Thursday and by Saturday or Sunday we where all out doing groceries!!!

My doctor said the first 3 months. Lol. Because they have more vaccinations by then and a slight ever so slightly better immune than when they just came out. Obviously doctors offices can be full of germs but we only went to doctor visits till he got some of his vaccinations and didn't bring him to stores till he was 3 months like his doctor recommended. Before then he stayed with my husband or relative if i had to get groceries. Theres no way id bring a baby 4 weeks or younger to crowded places. People are too touchy and will always try to touch or look at babies because theyre so tiny and cute. My mom had to watch my nephew quite a bit and she constantly had to tell people not to touch him because random people would. They just dont need to be over exposed to too many people.

We waited because I had a very traumatic birth and emergency c section and I could barely walk for weeks. 
If we lived in a big city I might be more cautious but out here in rural midwest I'm not worried about anything... "busy public place" doesn't really exist for us 😂😂😂
