CLOTH DIAPERING: pros & cons?

I’m super interested in the idea, but I know little to nothing about it. Someone please educate me!

I cloth diaper both of my sons and I wouldn't have it any other way, tbh. I started when my first was six months and developed an allergy to all disposables. 
Pros: You buy diapers once and you don't have to spend any more money, it's gentler on their skin than disposables, less diapers in landfills, they have really cute patterns, less likely to get a diaper rash, potty training is supposed to be easier because they can feel when they are wet better, harder for them to get off once they are old enough to rip the tabs on disposables, I've never ever had a blowout in 2 years of using them.
Cons: more laundry, electric and water may go up but mine didn't (at least not enough to notice), cleaning poop out if they are on formula or once they start eating solids, you have to go up a onesie or pants size (sucks for my kids because they are short and even their "normal" size pants are too long for them.)
I'm very happy with cloth diapering. Even if my oldest wasn't allergic to disposables, I wouldn't switch back.

I didn’t cloth diaper but my SIL did.  She did it to save $ mostly.  It didn’t quite pan out $ wise.  She got the all-in-ones.  She had intended to use them for all of her kids and resell if they were in good condition.  She got through 1.5 kids before the water proofing on the outside wore off.  She ended up cutting out the insides and buying water proofing stuff from a fabric store for the outside so she could use the diapers for her other kids.
She also ran into a snag with daycare. She had several daycare providers when her kids were in diapers.  Some refused to cloth diaper, so she still had to buy some disposables.
The big thing is to do your research and if you do cloth diaper, get a spray hose that hooks to your toilet.  My SIL really loved hers.

The land of never buying diapers is wonderful. We use Grovia hybrids with the no prep inserts and put a thirsties hemp liner between the layers for nighttime. They last a lot longer if you don't machine dry them. I love them so much. My siblings and cousins have all decided just from watching me that they well also cloth diaper.
