Weight gain on iud?

I have the liletta iud and am thinking about getting it taken out. Iv gained so much weight since getting it put in and it’s making me depressed. Has anyone experienced weight gain while on a hormonal iud? If so, how did you lose the weight? Also, if you had the iud removed... did you notice weight loss afterwards? TIA!

I got my liletta after having nexplanon for 8 months. I had gained 30 pounds on nexplanon and had assorted other issues so I had it out. I quit gaining but couldn’t start losing after I got the implant out. I got a liletta after my ex’s friend knocked his gf up and we agreed I’d try it since I hadn’t before. I’ve had my liletta since July 2017, and in my experience it’s wonderful! I started losing the implant weight right after I got my IUD, all 30 pounds.  I haven’t felt moody like with other hormonal BC. My periods have been all over the place but lately they have been like they were before I was on birth control, about 33 days apart. So I’m so sorry that the iud isn’t working for you! I do feel like girls that react badly to the levonorgestrel in the IUD react better to the Etonogestrel in the implant, and vice versa. I’ve heard from girls that loved the implant and hated the iud! I personally hated the implant and love the IUD. Good luck!

Literally having the exact same problem on the Liletta! The weight gain on this thing is atrocious.

My first bc was Depo shot which treated me horrible and they did a recall for .. now I’m on nexplanon .. I got on to bc in 2015.. I have gained 30-40 llbs . May will be the end of 3 year nexplanon.. and I’ve decided to take it out and give my body a break .. especially because I’m not messin with anyone and haven’t been for the longest.. hopefully I will drop some weight or atleast make it easier for me to lose the weight
