Pants? Shorts?

Question

This may be a dumb question. We live in New England, so the weather is unpredictable in May/June. I’ll buy a couple sets of newborn & 0-3 pants just in case for colder days but...do babies wear shorts when it’s hot? Or just onesies? LOL. This seems dumb but I really don’t know! We’re having a boy, FYI. I feel like girls summer clothes are easier.

I pretty much only bought special novelty onesies and took whatever ppl were offering up for baby clothes.  
We received a few shorts outfits but I figure we’ll just do onesies most of the time.  At that age he shouldn’t really be at anything too formal or public anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️

I live in New England too! I bought 0-3 month of everything long sleeve onesies and pants and then like you said onesies (short sleeve) rompers (they make for boys too) and some shorts . It is a tricky time of year it was when my son was born too but u can always have a light weight blanket with you too just Incase you under dress ! Or get some nice light weight terry cloth jackets for cooler days and layering so when it gets warmer you just take it off !

I despise pants/shorts on babies until they’re bigger like 6 months old. It’s just such a pain to get them off and on when they’re so tiny, my first lived in onesies and sleepers for a long time. But obviously they make them so other parents must have more patience than I do haha

I live in New Hampshire we got some hammy down pants and shorts but I mostly got those little rompers carter sells shorts and short sleeve and just made sure I got some light sweaters I can throw on I’ve them and some light swaddles/ blankets my nieces was a summer baby and they had her in mostly onsies all summer

Same, girl! I went to a used kid’s clothing store and all they had were shorts (because they switched their stock for summer) and all I could think was “babies wear shorts?” 😂
I agree about girl’s clothes, my first was a girl and this one is a boy. I plan to just do pants, because you still want them warm as newborns, they’re pretty sensitive. And if he ends up being too hot I’ll just take the pants off. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I also loved that rompers or crawlers were a thing for baby girls. You can get them for boys too but they seem to be harder to find.
