Question

Did you guys go natural or epidural or c section ?
Was it the contractions that hurt or the actual birth ?
Did the stitches hurt?

I had laughing gas and oxygen.
The contractions hurt and they were difficult, but they come in waves so it's manageable.
My girl was pressuring the right side of my pelvis which hurted constantly and that was fucking awful!
Got a second degree tear and I didn't even notice and the stitches didn't hurt at all.
Being swollen afterwards was actually the most uncomfortable thing because it makes it hard to sit down 😅

I have a high pain threshold and contractions were unbearable for me. I begged for an epidural. But...I was severely dehydrated when I went into labor and have since learned that makes it more painful. So, drink your water every day like your doc tells you too.

I went natural at home! The contractions were the worst, pushing relieved the contraction pain, but then ring of fire was awful(when baby’s head was crowning!)😭 I had a second degree tear, stitches were uncomfortable but not super painful! If you have any other questions, I’d be happy to answer them!

I just gave birth to my first last week so everything is still very fresh in my mind. I went into preterm labor at 30 weeks with contractions that I really hadn’t felt. At 36 weeks, my bag of waters developed a leak so I went in. Shortly after being admitted to labor and delivery, I had a large gush and my bag of waters broke. After that broke, the contractions really picked up and I finally felt them. I had contractions every 1-3 minutes. They progressively got worse with dilation. For me, they felt like horrible menstrual cramps that would wrap around my back. Rocking, birthing ball and moving my hips helped ease my pain. I was in hard labor from 7pm until 2am and dilated to 10cm. I chose to go natural with the exception of nitrous oxide gas. There were several times I wanted to give in to pain medicine but the midwife and nurse were so encouraging. I pushed from 2am until 4:16am when I gave birth. When you are pushing, you push through the contractions which helps the pain a little, but is also super exhausting. Pushing baby out is painful but relieving. My midwife actually helped spread me open with her fingers which I think prevented me from tearing. Also, prepare to be sore for several days afterwards. 
When laboring and pushing, stay positive and focus on something in the room and breathing through the pain. Good luck, the reward is so worth it!

I tried gas and air (didn’t like it). My contractions were on top of each other with out a break so they were mentally hard to get on top of. I felt like if I was able to have a minute in between them then I could get back on top of the pain but one would start before the last one ended. I decided that I wanted to be mentally present during my daughter’s birth and I went in with an open mind. I ended up with an epidural and was happy I did. I was fully dilated when I got it but my baby wasn’t low enough to start pushing. The epidural didn’t end up taking away much pain but pushing did. It also slowed down my contractions considerably (I had 3-5 minutes between which made pushing hard. My daughter had her hand up by her face and I had trouble finding the muscles to push and the long breaks between contractions made me loose a lot of progress. I would feel her move back up as I laid there waiting for another contractions. I was slow but it was such an amazing time!! I loved pushing. I pushed for 1.5 hours and finally able to get her out when between contractions I choked on water and started coughing. That pushed her down more and with the next contraction I was able to get her out. I torn a lot but not deep. Midwife spent about 45 minutes stitching me back up. I didn’t feel that. I had the epidural for a total of 2.5 hours.
