Combine bags?

FTM here, please no judging. I’m just trying to learn. I’m pumping directly into storage bags. Do I combine them together to make a full bag or do I just freeze them not full? I see all these freezer pics and it looks like the bags are all full. Just curious as to what to do. Using Kiinde bags currently.

I wouldn’t fill them up because when you defrost them, baby might not drink an entire bag. And you only have a certain amount of time to use the milk once it’s defrosted. In fact: some women freeze them in the amount baby will normally drink in one bottle (ex: if baby usually drinks a four ounce bottle then some women freeze their milk in four ounces per bag).  
If you lay them flat to freeze then they take up less space in your freezer.  Perhaps that’s why all women’s bags look full in pics.

You don’t have to defrost a whole bag at once. You can break up the frozen milk and pull out a chunk. So yes I definitely did combine milk from multiple pumping sessions into one bag. Just make sure you put the date you start the bag and freeze it within about three days of that.

When I was pumping I would combine up to a certain amount. Like 2 oz or so. Make sure to date and time it as the oldest pumping session if you do.
