Induction without pain meds?

So ftm.....and despite my best efforts to hold out on the natural labor I had in mind, due to high blood pressure I am being induced in 2 days. I wanted to know if anyone ftm or otherwise has had any positive experiences going through an induction with no epidural. Or really just any not horrific induction stories as I’m trying to keep a real good headspace going into this. I am already 3cm 80% effaced and I had a membrane sweep yesterday so I was told they will just start right in with the pitocin. Really hoping to hear that a drug free birth is still doable despite all the things I have heard about Pitocin!

I had an induction with my first, think I was maybe 1cm dilated when they started me off. Went to 7cm without any pain relief, just thought I needed a big poo😂 was wheeled round to the labour ward and was ready to push, only had gas and air. No epidural! It really depends on your pain threshold and how well you cope with all of it.

Since you’re already dilated and somewhat effaced, you might have better luck than me!! 
When I went in for induction I was absolutely closed and cervix was high, we did cytotec and then they figured the 1/2 cm I had dilated was good enough to start pitocin. It was not 😑 I labored for 9 hours on pitocin with back labor and finally gave in for the epidural after vomiting and shaking so bad- which I don’t regret at all! I had only dilated to 3.5 cm in that length of time and knew it would be a very long time before I delivered at that rate (and I was right, got the epidural at 3:30 pm and didn’t driver until 4:22 am next morning). 
Just be willing to be flexible and know that you can do whatever you put your mind to!!!

It’s doable since you’re not going into this without being dilated and so forth it will really just depend on the pain tolerance. Being induced is a different pain than going into labor on your own I have a fairly ok  pain tolerance but couldn’t handle being forced into labor

My sister in law was induced with all 3 of hers due to not dilating. She did all but her first one natural and she said she wished she wouldnt have gotten the epidural the first time she was just young and scared. Good luck!

I wasn’t even a cm dilated when my water broke and I had to be induced. I tried for 12 hours without an epidural and it was really painful and exhausting. I finally broke down and got one. My labor was 28 hours and there’s no way I would have had the energy to even push had I not gotten one. Once I got it I was able to sleep a little. You may go quickly since you’re already dilated so it could be doable! Pitocin makes them so strong and I was having them on top of each other.
