I was bit by a tick 4 days ago. It was attached for only a few hours before I noticed it. My husband pulled it off of me, and he said he had gotten the head out as well.. should I be concerned about Lyme disease or anything? Super worried about my baby😞

It typically takes 24 hours for disease to transfer.  This is because it's not the bite that transfers it, its their puke...to be blunt. They will feed and feed until they cant fit anymore,  then regurgitate in you, and that typically happens around 24 hours. Also, not all ticks are prone to carrying lyme,  deer ticks are the most common.  Just be aware of how you are feeling,  even a few months from now. Very few tick/lyme cases actually present with the bullseye rash that everyone says to watch out for. (My source: I worked on a lyme disease research study for a hospital)

Get checked just in case! A Lyme disease rash appears like a "bullseye." If you can stomach it, look up a couple photos from reputable sources online so you know what to watch for too.

Definitely let your doctor know, even if you don't develop a rash (but especially if you do). They can hopefully start you on antibiotics, even if just to be safe. Did your husband dispose of the tick, by chance? If it's not too late, it can be saved for testing. I had Lyme Disease as a kid that wasn't diagnosed right away, and I was sick for a really long time. Best of luck!!

Did you happen to keep the tick? Deer ticks are smaller and usually the limes carriers . Wood ticks are bigger. Also one has white horseshoe, the other red I think. If it ever happens again, put it in a piece of scotch tape to save Incase the spot turns into a rash (usually bullseye). Definitely worth giving a call to your GP though to do a blood draw.
