39 weeks and I haven’t experience any contractions

Is this normal?! My doctor has been asking me if I have experience any contractions since about 36 weeks and I’m 39 weeks now and haven’t had not one! Braxton Hicks are the only thing I’ve felt and they aren’t even happening daily! I feel like this baby is never going to come! I’m a FTM btw so I know literally nothing about labor and delivery but I’m pretty sure contractions are what dilates you and I’m not dilated any!😩 I feel like I’m looking at a 42 week long pregnancy here.
