His grandfathers ring or this ring?

I wrote about this before but I just learned something new.

I’ve saved up enough money to get my fiancé ( who is in the navy ) a wedding band that is made out of the USS NC teak wood , the inside is made out of a jack Daniels whiskey barrel wood and a very skinny lining of rose gold to match my ring.

But I’ve recently found out that these rings chip so easy. I’ve read reviews of men who just work on a computer and it chips within a couple months. So I’m nervous.

His mom has offered for me to give him his grandfathers ring. At first I was sad because I’ve saved so much up but knowing these rings are known as rings that aren’t used for every day like I would like it to be I’m reconsidering

Should I just take his grandfathers ring and maybe get him the USS navy ring for an anniversary gift some time?
