Yeast infection

Okay so I’ve been itchy down there and I called my doctor and she said I might have a yeast infection and told me to use monistat so I started using it and every time I use it I itch 100x worse. I called today and asked if I changed soaps or anything and I have and she said I could of just got an allergic reaction from the laundry detergent. Im also ovulating so could the white discharge be from a yeast infection or could it just be from ovulating?
