Baby doesn’t go into a deep sleep?

In my arms, baby sleeps great. Minimal movement and grunting. I get bassinet, she wiggles, grunts, whines, moans, etc. She does all this with her eyes shut. Is she even really sleeping? I definitely can’t sleep with all of this going on. Does anyone else experience this? Sometimes she has a couple minutes of quiet and stillness. 
This usually results in her sleeping in her bassinet for two hours, then my arms the rest of the night. 😩

We call her “Grunty Gus” because she is so loud. However, I only find it bad after the 4-5am feeding. I read they are getting used to their digestive system and perhaps that is why? At that point in the morning we notice if she lays on either of our chests on her belly it completely stops. My husband sleeps with earplugs in 😂 I have learned to sleep through it. Apparently there is such a thing as Grunting Baby Syndrome 🤔🤷🏻‍♀️ I had to Google about the grunts because I was so worried. Also glad we aren’t the only ones. I hope your LO quiets down soon for you!!

😖 yes! We’re not at the point where we sleep together (maybe I’d get more sleep that way), but it takes forever for her to fall asleep after a feed. Then grunts and squirms as soon as I lay her down. My little is 6 weeks old. I am so tired lately! And I have no idea how to help her.

Try a hot water bottle (not scalding hot of course) where her head goes in the bassinet. Then when you’re just about to put her down, take it away and place her there. Sometimes they don’t like getting put down when the sheet is colder than your cosy arms. Might not work and she might just be going through her first “leap” but it’s definitely worth a shot - good luck!

Maybe she has reflux. It can be pretty mild but she could be irritated from being flat on her back. I just remember having terrible heartburn while I was pregnant that was soooo bad if I laid flat.

Yes!!! I feel like I am going insane because my baby doesn’t do this in the day, but after that 2am/3am feed he is a monster. It sounds like Jurassic park in my bedroom. 
His eyes are closed the entire time but he is squirming and grunting and squeaking. I burp the life out of him and it still doesn’t help. He’s 7 weeks now and it’s been happening since week 4. I am going crazy on no sleep 😵😵😵
My partner sleeps through it all but every grunt I am on high alert, the only time I manage to block it out is when I’m that tired I literally pass out. 
Anybody been through this and it’s stopped at a certain week?

My baby did the exact same thing! I started her on probiotic drops a few weeks ago and it has helped some! I also use a sound machine that she really sleeps well to and I love because it helps masks all the grunts and groans lol. I have started to burp her before she starts nursing, and then during the feed and of course after to help get the majority of bubbles out. I give her a pacifier at night because the sucking helps her not grunt as much. I’ve been doing all of this for about two to three weeks now and she has slept through the night the past three nights! Last night was 10 hours!

Mine does the same. I can’t sleep through it. He eventually ends up in my bed and it stops immediately. Only does this in bassinet. 😣

Mine does the same thing... I try to make the transition to bassinet as smooth as possible but sometimes you just gotta let them grunt lol. It has something to do with their shorter sleep cycles I believe.

Our babe hates being swaddled. I wait till asleep then swaddle. Sleep is fine after that. He also sleep better in his crib than a bassinet and has since 2 weeks old. 
Maybe try swaddling if you aren’t (their startle reflex wakes them up between sleep patterns...swaddling helps to limit that movement). Or try a different place of sleep if you have that option.
