My DR asked if I was anorexic
I had an appointment with my Dr the other day to check up on my heart. - I suffer with palpitations.
Whilst there I told her I was suffering from dizziness and have done for several months.
She then asked if I was anorexic. Did I have a eating problem. Was I suffering with bulimia.
I’m 5’1 and weigh 46kg. I eat loads, but I’m just really petite and I’ve just graduate from an extremely active dance degree.
Although I know she’s just doing her job and covering all areas it made me really upset.
I was always questioned by a previous boss, who was actually incredibly rude to me on several occasions, if I had an eating disorder because I was slim, and now whenever anyone says anything about being small or skinny it really effects me.
I now have low blood pressure which my Dr says is normal in slim people and may be why I’m feeling dizzy. Her advice, have some caffeine. - which she and several other drs have advised against because of my palpitations.
Honestly, I just feel I’m in a circle of defending my body, how I eat and overall health.
Advice would be great
