Are bouncers/swings dangerous?

Since the rock n play recall I’ve been wondering if all bouncers and swings are dangerous too? Or is it just this one specific product? FTM so I have no idea.

They are NOT safe for sleeping. If baby falls asleep in them they should be moved to a flat surface.
The RNP is not safe and should not be used. It was recalled because 24 babies died when they were properly used. The initial 10 reported deaths were due to improper use, but more and more are coming to light when babes were properly strapped in, not too big. Not rolling etc.
But for awake time bouncers and swings are great aid your baby likes them!

The rock n play as well as any other baby product is safe if you use it correctly. They all come with instructions. I’m sure rock n plays with be right back on the market once they write a ton of more rules and make it very obvious the people that don’t read the instructions. Also yes a baby can stop breathing even if you used it correctly but that could happen in a car seat, crib, etc.

Totally unnecessary either way. I refused to buy anything like this. I wasn't starting the habit of our daughter only sleeping in something that moved (i.e. swings, bouncers, rock n plays, etc).

A blanket can be deadly to an infant if used improperly. Just be sure to always monitor your child when in the swing and they should be just fine.

Yep totally unsafe if not used with common sense. Same as your car, car seat and any other product on the market. That's why they come with user guides and warnings on what not to do.
