So my boyfriend and I have been together for almost 4 years, been trying to conceive for almost 2 years, and just bought a house last year. My birthday is coming up soon and for the past 2 or 3 years I've been wanting to do a family dinner at a restaurant with both families together. My family loves my boyfriend but I'm having issues with his family. His brother and sister in law ''can't find" a babysitter for their 1 year old twins and his parents 'can not' make it and when asked about doing it another time they said no. I have been trying to have a good relationship with them but they don't seem like they don't want to. I don't want them to all of sudden to care about me and want to have a good relationship with me once I'm pregnant. If they don't want anything to do with me now I'm not going to let our child to be around them. This situation is hurting my boyfriend, and whenever I go around the twins his brother and sister in law don't say "it's ok, it's just Aunt Renee", hell even if they know me as Renee is fine.
