Gastroschisis story
My baby was born with Gastroschisis in March 31st and was in the NICU for 33 days. I I found out that my baby Cayden would have Gastroschisis when I was 16 weeks pregnant, hearing that was really scary and I didn’t know what to expect. When I was 35 weeks (almost 36) I went into preterm labor and had my baby boy via C-section and he was taken into surgery soon after he was born, I was only able to see him for a second before he had to go into the operating room. The first night he was born he was able to have his first surgery and when he was three days old they were able to do his closure surgery I had to wait four long days before I could hold Cayden but that was one of the best days of my life. He kept on improving while in the NICU and after his surgery and is now a little over a month old and is doing amazing at home. I am beyond thankful for all of the NICU nurses who were there for Cayden and always took such great care of him! I am so happy and thankful to have him home 💚
