Awful first week with breastfeeding... Baby not gaining back weight **Edited Post**

Hey guys so my sweet boy is 6 Days old and weighted 6 lbs 8 oz at birth. He lost 6% on Day 1 and another 3% due to difficult breastfeeding. He would latch on and switch to sucking his thong. After 2 Days of really exhausting feeds he gained half of what he lost, but they say he is not gaining back enough. I felt like we were finally heading somewhere but now the fear or underfeeding him is back. Did anyone experience this??

Ok so yesterday we went in again and baby actually gained 100 g in 2 Days exclusively from my milk - he did not get any supplement in 36 hours. We are are so relieved! I started mass producing as if I had twins to feed so I think we are back on track. He does have very light feeds especialy at night and it makes me wonder if he could get dehydrated or if its normal. FTM fears I guess 😊 thanks ladies for you replies!
