NST???

Question

So I know it's a non stress test but does everyone get one? Or is it for high risk or if they suspect something? 
What does it consist of?
When do you get them?
I'll have my 34 week appt on Wednesday and everything has been going well. The only thing I'm slightly concerned about is that she's sitting diagonally (I think)

Mainly for high risk like gestational diabetes or other factors. Most boring test ever. You get put on a monitor that listens to heart beat and another that measures for contractions. Takes about 30 min to 1hr depending on Baby cooperating with the monitor.

I am 32 weeks along now and have to go twice every week for ultrasounds and NST because of my gestational diabetes.

Not everyone gets them. I’m only getting them because I’m having twins. But I’ve had no complications at all

I’m getting NST twice a week because my baby girl is in the 10th percentile in terms of size. It’s annoying having to go there twice a week but i do enjoy the comfy reclining chair i sit in 😁. I didn’t have to get an NST with my first baby, so not everyone gets one. It’s usually for high risk pregnancy.

I'm in Germany and I get them at every appointment starting at roughly 30 weeks. It gets pretty boring after a while!

I’m getting weekly NST because my little girl is so small. A couple weeks ago she was only 2 lbs. I’ve also had trouble gaining weight. Typically, you only get them if there’s concern or baby needs to be monitored more closely. 
For me, they monitor her heart rate and monitor contractions like they would if you went into L&D to get checked up on something. Afterwards, my OB does a quick US to check fluid levels and Skyler has to do a certain amount of kicks, rolls, and sustained breathing to pass that test. 
Basically, the goal is for fluid levels to be okay and to make sure her heart rate goes up after a movement.

I never had one with my first pregnancy but I get them weekly now since my blood pressure is on the high side.
