Updated: Essential Travel items/bed?

Question

Hello Ladies!
I will be taking a short 1.30 hr flight with my 5 month old baby. This is my first time taking him on a plane. Any essentials that you recommend?
Also I am taking a 10 hour flight to Istanbul in September (baby will be 9 months). 
Any portable bed recommendations? Light enough to take on plane.

Update : Oh yes for both these two trips I will be staying with family. So no hotel will be needed. :)

I’m just buying a pack and play to stay at my sister in laws house when he go there this summer. I hate luggage, so would rather drop $80 when we get there then have to juggle that and the stroller.

I would call the hotel you are staying at because a lot of times they have cribs like cots they can put in the room.
