Has anyone ever regretted their baby’s name?

I am so nervous about picking a name!!! Has anyone ever regretted what they named their child once they were older? If so, what was the name and/or why did you regret it? Any advice?

I did regret the spelling of my first baby. We changed it and I feel better about it now.

I regretted naming my daughter Olivia for a couple months after she was born. When we chose her name we didn’t realize how popular it was. And I felt like it didn’t suit her. 
But now I couldn’t imagine her having any other name. She is my little love bug, Liv 🎀

My son is a Jr. and I hate naming him after his sperm donor 🙄 my son is 5 and his dad hasn’t seen him since he was 9 months old. My son is William Terrell

I had one name and one name only that I absolutely loved. Of course, my SO didn’t like it. I didn’t like his favorite either. I offered to do my favorite as a first name and his as a middle name (it honestly flowed better that way than it would’ve the other way) because I loved my name so much, but he still wouldn’t go for it. So we ended up making list after list, and we finally found one we both liked... and I still do... like it. But I don’t love it. I wish we would’ve given her the name I loved. So I guess I do kinda regret her name, but it was out of my hands, so it’s a bit of a different situation than you’re in since you like both of your name choices.

My son was born with one name and 24 hours later we changed it! The name just didn't fit him once we met him.

I had picked out a name when I was really young - my grandmas name. I loved it.  And got so tied to it I didn’t even think about other names.  Some crap happened (and I love my grandma more than ever) but it’s all I think about with my daughters middle name now.  I wish I had been a bit more open to other names.   I’m not going to change it but I might add another middle name to help alleviate that.

Kinda... my oldest son, his dad picked his first name and wouldn’t compromise. It’s a unisex name, so I knew he would run into girls with the same name. His name is Peyton, so we call him Pey for short. He’s never met another boy Peyton, and about 4 girls with his name through school. It doesn’t seem to bother him though. I did get final name say in our other 2 kids first names. We also have a Madilynn and Damon.

Kinda, I didn’t realize Evelyn would be so common but I love it, so it is what it is. Now I’m gonna have a John the third, and that’s an even more common name but I’ve come to terms with it lol.

No, but my husband and I took a list of three names to the hospital and picked one when we met our son. But I will say I accidentally called him by one of the other names a few days after we got home (actually the name I originally wanted) but it was weird to say it. It wasn't him at all.

We announced our sons name when I reached the third trimester so a bunch of people got personalized gifts for us and everything. Once my son was born I got really nervous because the name just didn’t seem to fit him at the time. I stuck with it though and he slowly grew into it 😊 now I can’t imagine him with any of the other names we had picked out
