How long??

Those of you who are over 30, how long did you TTC before you spoke to your dr and sought out medical help?

I turned 32 last month (my husband is 39) and we’ve been TTC for 5-6 months now. I went to see my OBGYN 2 months into TTC because I have been having very irregular period these past year (skipped 3 times). Went in to see if there’s anything wrong with me and my husband got some test done too. Both came back normal, I guess I just haven’t been ovulating regularly and it was hard to test for it because of it. I started to take prenatal and was prescribed progesterone to help jump start my cycle. So far my cycle has been normal for the past couple months after, and I finally got my positive LH surge this month! I hope that it works this time! Baby dust to us all!

I am 33 and my husband is 32. We have been ttc for 16 cycles. I waited a year to go to a doctor about it. Recently got a diagnois of PCOS. We have a 3.5 year old that we got pregnant with fairly easy. Make sure you are tracking cycle length, using opk, and temping if possible. It will save you time when you go to the doctor. I found out I ovulate late CD 18-21. Started 2.5mg of Femara this month.

We went a year , but then for my dr to get me a referral (and my partner to agree ) it was another 4-5months. Really wish we had started earlier. It’s now almost 3 years ttc

Over 35 is 6 months, under is a year, but if there is a known issue (pcos etc) some will let you go earlier.  We started trying at 33 and my gyn said to wait a year.  My RE's office said they would have taken me right away based on my history.  I'm now 36 and in the early stages of IVF.  If I did it all over again I would have called my RE after 6 months. I went the first mth we didn’t get pregnant she told me that it will probably take me 6mths to a year

They usually tell you to try on your own for 6-8 months before they intervene. Or start testing. Just so happy on month 7th we got pregnant
