Weird question.

So a girl I know is selling her car and I want to buy it. It’s a surprise for my boyfriends birthday well he showed me the car but he doesn’t know I am getting it. I’ve never bought a car from someone so like what do I do? Like I bought my car but from a dealership is what I mean. It’s 10,000. Sorry if this is a dumb question I’m just curious.
