Would you tell? 🤔

So I’m going to see my extended family this weekend for Mother’s Day and I will be 11 weeks on Friday. My mom and sister think I should tell everyone then, but I have my doubts or just me worrying. My last appointment I was 8 weeks and everything was good and baby was healthy. My next appointment isn’t until next week after I visit. I don’t know if I am just worrying myself or working myself up. I just want the ok that the baby is ok and heathy before telling because what if something happens. The bad thing is I won’t see these family members until summer time and by then, everything goes well I will be really showing. Am I just over worrying myself?

I would tell them! There’s never zero chance that something will still go wrong, but at 11 weeks your chance of miscarriage is 2% and at 14 weeks it’s 1%. In other words, it’s the difference between a 98% and a 99% chance everything will be fine. There will always be some people who you hear from who had losses later, but at a certain point you decide the risk is statistically small enough to take that leap. To me personally, that 1% difference isn’t significant enough to wait, and I say that as someone with a history of miscarriages.

I’d wait! I had a missed miscarriage and didn’t find out until I was 12 weeks, 3 days that the baby stopped growing at 9 weeks, 5 days. Having to tell people what happened after everyone was so exited was truly heartbreaking and lead to a lot of depression. I won’t be announcing until I’m 14 weeks, this is my third pregnancy

I'd tell tell them! I told my close family at 5 weeks, and publicly at 10 weeks. A lot of people say to wait, but i just felt like everything was fine, why not share the good news!
