L&D question

My first baby was induced. I was having contractions before being induced, but I didn’t feel them. The contractions after being induced were horribly painful. So logically I understand that I’ve never experienced natural labor, but I don’t know if what I experienced then is a fair representation of what I will experience in the future? Is there anyone here that has experienced the difference between natural labor and induced that can tell if there was a difference? Maybe help me understand what I should expect?
