Spotting on progesterone supplements? 12 dpo is this normal?

Hey anyone out there taking progesterone and spotting? I’m 12dpo, negative test. But very faint light brown/pink spotting and was under the impression this wouldn’t happen until I stopped taking them. Anyone?

Progesterone is both for pregnancy AND it is sometimes used to induce a period. 
Unfortunately you will not know wether it’s actually helping with pregnancy or starting your period, unless you test negative and start bleeding or test positive and it stops.
