Am I weird??

I’ve heard and seen once baby is born they like to put baby on chest for “skin to skin” contact.. but is it weird I’m grossed out by it. The baby being all slimy and bloody. Do they smell after coming out? Will they clean me up if all the stuff gets on me. Or can I tell them to clean her first before handing her to me???

You won’t care about any of that when the time comes. They will wipe bub down a bit, and you can have a shower later on if you want. But skin to skin has amazing benefits for bub and mum.

I was worried about being grossed out too I wanted my son to have a bath before I held him. After 22 hours of labor and hearing his first cry I didn't care if he shit all over me I wanted my baby

The baby won’t be ‘slimy’. They give baby a quick rub off while she’s on you but you won’t care. After all that hard work you’ll want your baby no matter what is on her/him.

As soon as my baby was out, they quickly wiped him off & placed him on my chest 💓 It was the best feeling ever! He was just starring at me lol.

They wiped my baby a bit but he wasn’t very dirty when he came out anyway, so there was no blood or slime on me from him

The newborn smell is actually AMAZING i wish they could bottle that up! Lol! Seriously though. Baby smell is the best smell ever.

It's a little hard to see but this was what my son looked like after he was born. They did just a little wipe down but he was not bloody or slimy at all. I had a little over an hour of skin to skin and breastfeeding him before they cleaned him up a little more and took all their measurements.

They aren’t actually slimy and bloody as you would think 😂 they cover them a bit too while on top of you. Trust me you won’t even notice you’re in heaven!

I was a little grossed out lol but skin is washable and you can shower after. I got over it.
