Moving out of state at 18, is this a bad choice?

I don’t even know where to start ... long story short my boyfriend left for Arizona last night with his mother and little brother. His plan originally was to be down there to help her for a couple of months then come back here with me. But now he thinks it’s better for me to come down there with him once I’m 18 for a fresh start and because it’s better there. We both come from Waukegan which is low income, small city. There’s not much here and all my life i always wanted to leave to somewhere bigger and with cleaner air and new people. Theres not much here at all honestly. I do want to leave but my fear is people (well my family) misunderstanding and thinking im running behind my boyfriend or just plain ‘ol not supporting me. I dont know what to do because not only do I want to be with him , i want to start fresh. I want to leave and go somewhere that maybe i can grow into a better person with the person that i love and loves me☹️ i honestly don’t know what to do. I’m stressed out at this point. Btw, We both are working and saving so money is not an issue. Me being able to leave without burning bridges is the big mystery.
