Has this happened to anyone

I have a terrible cold no fever but I’m coughing so much that my ribcage is killing me. I got the ok to take mucinex ( which was great cause I have it in the house) but it’s not working and it’s been about a week.

Only thing doc said was rest and fluids!

I’m not supposed to eat oranges because of gestational diabetes and the high sugar but I ate a few pieces this morning with a lot of water hoping that it would help.

Any suggestions?
