Premmie babies
Hi ladies, so I’m currently in hospital. Transferred to a major hospital as my waters broke at 26 weeks. So far 2.5 days later I have not gone into labour. Every doctor I have seen has given me their opinions which are all different, the longest they’ll let me go is 36 weeks and then they’ll induce me as they’d said at that point the risks of continuing outweigh the risks of inducing early. Some doctors have said I’ll most likely go into labour in the next week or so and other have said I’ll be induced at 32 weeks. So needless to say I am confused and overwhelmed. I am at one of the worlds leading hospitals so I know I am in safe hands though.
Fortunately I’ve never gone into labour on my own, this is my third child and the first I was induced at 34 weeks as my waters broke and I had an infection. And my second I was induced at 39 weeks and I don’t think he would of come any time soon if I wasn’t induced. So I’m holding onto hope that because my body doesn’t know how to go into labour on it’s own maybe this little bub will stay in for longer?
I am wondering though, is there anything I can do to help develop the baby quicker? I heard magnesium and omega 3 help with brain development, what could help with size? Or lungs development. Just feeling a little helpless right now and wanting to know what I can do to help this bubba along other than keeping her in for as long as possible.
