Disagreeing on when to announce?

Did anyone and their partner ever disagree on when to announce a pregnancy? My boyfriend wants to wait until closer to halfway through while I would like to tell them closer to the 12 week mark. We’re currently 8 weeks. I just don’t want to hide my pregnancy for so long, especially throughout the summer. Any ideas on how to go about this? 😩

Why does he want to wait till halfway? If he doesn’t have a good reason maybe explain that you’re the one that’s pregnant and you’re missing out on valuable support by not announcing sooner. 12 weeks is pretty standard to announce.

We decided that we would tell our parents and siblings at 15 weeks and extended family at 20-25.

People are going to know well before 20 weeks. I’m 16 weeks with my first and I can’t hide it anymore. I think you all should be able to compromise on a date.

You’ll be showing by halfway. Just wait until 12 weeks and then if you decide to wait a little longer that’s fine too. I told at 10 weeks because I was already showing since I was super tiny before.

my husband has asked if we could announce once or twice throughout my pregnancy but we’re waiting until birth to do so. we only have 5 weeks left now anyways lol

My husband was so impatient that he wanted to tell people at 10 weeks. I put my foot down and said we were sticking to the 12 weeks like first agreed. We wanted to have the 12 week scan and bloods done and know they were all ok before sharing. After the 12 weeks we told family as we saw them, we don’t live near our families so his Mum didn’t actually know till 15 weeks. I am telling my class tomorrow cause it’s almost impossible to hide. I’m 18 weeks. Can’t imagine not telling anyone till I’m half way. I wanted to scream it from the rooftops immediately ☺️

I would just compromise 🤷🏼‍♀️ 16 weeks?? It’s an exciting time so I would struggle to wait until 20 weeks
