So my husband's grandmother is in her low to mid 90s and still pretty active. She is very materialistic, very much about her, and very against breastfeeding around others.

Yesterday for mothers day the whole family was at her house for lunch. I currently have a 10 month old I still EBF and I'm 5w5d pregnant with number 2. We decided to tell the family yesterday. Later I went to nurse my LO in another room. As I'm nursing his grandmother comes in (something she never does) to tell me I might want to stop nursing my girl. She proceeds to tell me that her grandmother had a first born son and was pregnant with boy number two, still breastfed and her first son died. The German doctor (she made it very clear it was a German doctor) told her that the first boy died because she was nursing him while pregnant with another boy, had she been pregnant with a girl it would have been fine...

She wouldn't leave me alone about it. Kept telling me to call my doctor, stop nursing...

Sometimes all you can do is nod and say Yes ma'am...
