Emergency csection with first. Now what?

Hey mommas! My daughter is 13 months this week. Just found out we’re pregnant with number 2 due in January! 
I had an emergency csection with my first- I was out under general anesthesia. Did anyone else go through that with one? 
It was very traumatic. I dilated to 10 on my own but was hemorrhaging. We later found out my placenta ruptured.  
How did you decide to have a csection or vbac with the next? I already know I’m eligible for a vbac as long as this baby is healthy!

I’m having a repeat csection only because I’m getting my tubes tied at the same time.

I highly highly recommend this fb group. It is safer to have a VBAC and it decreases your likelihood of future complications of conceiving, or pregnancy complications. For those that say their doctor won’t do a VBAC then you need a new doctor. The American College of gynecology and pediatrics recommends VBAC over induction and induction over Repeat c-section.

My doctor won’t do a VBAC so will be having another c section in July. I’d talk to your doctor about options and really do research and decide what’s best for you. VBACs are easier to recover from but also what’s the odds your placenta could rupture again (no idea just something to ask).

I love my OB, but she said her medical group currently doesn’t allow VBACs, so she already said she would have to refer me to a different OB if I wanted to try. 
My sister is a nurse and she told me one of her most traumatizing work memories was the night that a woman went into labor naturally at 39 weeks hoping for a VBAC, but her uterus ruptured and she lost her perfect full-term baby. She was about to get off her shift when the code blue was announced and she said it was the most heartbreaking thing to see that lifeless baby who’s death could have been so avoidable. After hearing that story I decided it is not worth it to put my baby’s life at risk, even though c-sections suck. My c-section was due to the baby getting stuck in my pelvis and Preeclampsia, so I probably wouldn’t have a successful VBAC anyway. Best of luck if you do try it.
