Tips on working with kids! 😩 trying not to let my anxiety get the best of me

Naomi

I have an interview at a local daycare center tomorrow and at first I was really really excited and thinking of the best when I learned they wanted to interview me. But now since my interview is literally tomorrow I can’t help to feel anxious. Like I don’t have much experience working with children outside of my family members kids and my son, but actually doing it as a job is a whole other ballpark. Even working with my family’s kids I don’t have a ton of patience or I either get bored easily🤷🏾‍♀️ what can I say I’ve never really been good with kids except for babies 🥰😍 I love babies but with this job I can work with either babies, toddlers, or preK and kindergarten age kids. It all depends on where they place me. You may be thinking “well if you’re not good with children why apply for this job?” And I applied for this job because it was literally the only place that can work around my schedule with my son and I can bring him to work with me. It’s a win win! I work Monday-Friday and the latest I’ll work is til 6-6:30 when the center closes. Finding a job as a single parent is incredibly hard especially when you’re like me and have minimal to no help. I’ve been unemployed since I was 4 months pregnant and times are HARD!. So anybody whose ever worked at a daycare center or is really good working with kids please give me tips on how to have patience and engage better with the kiddos. I really want this job and it’s a 2 hour interview with part of it is seeing how well I interact with the children so please, ANY amount of advice helps!
