I have this rule with my sister, i believe strongly of second hand smoke so she knows before she comes shes to have a change shirt to change into at my house, no cigarette within two hours and her hair pulled back and hands washed really really well before even touching the baby or being in the house around the baby. Call me extra but i wont risk my daughter's health because they do🤷 im extra in public too ill tell someone off if they smoke too close to a place kids can be at.

And also with anyone who does smoke doesnt matter if they smell like it or not make sure there is always a receiving blanket between them and your baby when they are holding the baby. That's the main rule I will have well plus wash hands. And I use to be a smoker and that rule was given to me when I would be hold my nephew and I didnt take offense to it and understood.

Cigarette smoke in any form is bad for baby. I totally understand where you're coming from, not wanting to say something, so you could try to explain that to your husband and he could do that. But yeah it's not even just a matter of the smell, it's actually harmful.

Not wrong at all! Cigarette smoke sticks on clothing, hands, hair, etc. That’s actually called “3rd-hand smoke” and it is very harmful to all, especially infants and kids. You gotta do what you gotta do to protect your babies. Can’t worry too much about her feelings in this case.
