How would you handle this situation?

You and your boyfriend have a newborn baby. You get a letter in the mail from the front office of your apartment complex stating you have a week to move out or you will be evicted. You make plans with your parents to move in with them until you get back on your feet. You find out two days before you have to leave that your parents had a miscommunication and only you and the baby are allowed to come because your father doesn't feel comfortable taking your bf in without you two being married. That means the father would have to live an hour away from you and your baby. You literally have NO other option. How would you handle the situation?

Well, first of all... they legally have to give you at least 30 day notice before evicting you. So you might want to fight that to give yourself more time to find another place to live.

Legally it’s 30 days, not a week. I’d live the hour away bc it means my baby and I have a roof over our head every night. It’s indeed their house, their rules. It’s not like he can’t go see you or meet halfway and visit as often as possible.

My husband and I havw been there when our house burnt in the big Cali fire. My mom said my daughter and I could move in but not him. He told us to go and that he'd find somewhere for us. We stayed apart for like 2 months doing this and then he found us a home and we are now together again. He put me and baby first and came to see her as often as he could.

I'd respect your parents and accept the help and not make a big fuss over it. Help doesn't come easy... There are other people to consider and their wishes as they make an effort to help you. Take it or leave it... It's not like you'll be living there forever.

I’d ask my parents if he could possibly sleep on the couch or in the guest bedroom. If they say no, then it’s a no. It’s unfortunate but it’s their house. However the apartment complex legally has to give you longer than a week
