Baby Aspirin?

I am newly pregnant and have had two miscarriages at 5 weeks in the last year. All my hormone levels seem normal and The doctors say to simply keep trying.
One of my friends swears taking one baby aspirin a day is the trick. Maybe I do have a blood clotting disorder? I’ll ask to be tested but in the meantime: has baby aspirin done the trick for anyone else?

This is a better question for your doctor and here is why. Miscarriages are common and just because you have them doesn’t necessarily mean you have a fertility issue. Because of this, a woman that lacks fertility problems who takes aspirin in pregnancy actually can increase their chances of miscarriage. 
Second, if you had a clotting disorder, such as Factor V, they’d want you on a stronger blood thinner such as Lovenox depending on trimester. Most people who have clotting disorders either have a family history or a known diagnosis as they’ve previously dealt with major clotting issues prior to pregnancy.
Typically aspirin in the first trimester is used to help facilitate implantation in unison with other infertility medications. In my case, my “hormones” fell within normal limits on paper but when my infertility doctor performed an ultrasound during my luteal phase, it showed my uterus lining to be half the thickness needed to support an egg. This finding was congruent with my other symptoms of low progesterone. Due to this finding, I was placed on both low dose aspirin and progesterone for the first ten weeks of my pregnancy.
Any medication taken during pregnancy should be communicated to and monitored by your doctor/midwife as all medications have side effects. If miscarriages continue, I highly suggest an infertility specialist. Good luck!

My doctor told me to take a baby aspirin this pregnancy. I’m now 20 weeks. There’s still no way to know though if it was the baby aspirin that did the trick or not. Just take it if you want, and then let your doctor know and ask for more info from them. It’s 81mg aspirin.
